Middle School Athletics
The Middle School Athletic philosophy is the promotion of positive physical, social, moral, and ethical values.  The extramural program allows a student who demonstrates a greater interest and skill level to participate in competitions involving other schools.   This program emphasizes sportsman ship, teamwork, and the growth and development of students involved.
Competition is a vital part of athletics and it provides a student with opportunities to pursue his or her personal best fosters a competence and mastery, physical fitness, and emotional well being.  Being on competitive teams teaches boys and girls how to lead and how to cooperate with others.  These abilities can serve them well in the world of work and in their interpersonal relationships.  Mastering the rules and skills of team sports requires concentration and attention to detail, which are qualities that can be applied in the classroom as well.
Research has proven that athletics is competitive in nature, therefore, it should be treated as such, therefore, the team that competes in the interscholastic competitions should be at the highest skills level.  Alternative ways of involving all students who does not participate in interscholastic games should be provided such as having unlimited practice rosters.
Below are some important rules that govern the middle school athletics program:
